When you start a new project with new people, it’s not wise to assume that their intentions and inclinations or thought patterns align with your ones.
While you might have done a value check or any other such excersize, it will still usually take multiple months of building that trust together with them, after which you can sort of expect them to understand the way you think and make decisions.
Even then, some people will not partake in building the company like you would, frankly, no one will with the intensity you do. Because it’s, well, your company.
So, always keep that in mind.
Build trust, build security for them, understand them and find ways to help them get where they want to go. Not just where you want them to go.
Moderate and manage information and complexity for them. You should be the filter between the compexity and chaos of information and what they need to know and would work the best with.
