Don’t call what we do ‘work’, Kabir. It’s a dishonor to this experience!

Were the words of the creative team at LIT.

I realised pretty early how guiding a creative team is going to be an entirely different game.

See, creatives like us hate being bound down by tasks and systems. It feels like putting a tiger in a small cage and then asking it to hunt.

Like we’re ‘supposed’ to create, rather than the natural of being ‘inspired’ to create.

Companies like Apple are privileged. All they do is bring amazing people together and build a fulfilling environment without expecting much.

No wonder they create such amazing stuff and the team thrives.

Startups can’t do that.

Startups have a runway.

The only chance we have of building a thriving creative team is by inspiring each other’s lifestyle.

By building culture that isn’t around work, but about how each of us approaches life.

Everything from drinking water regularly to eliminating distractions and even teaching what we learn daily.

When your team sees you walking the talk, they pick it up in their own way.

And then - the videos, the creative, all of that happens automatically, by design.

I take pride in everything that our team makes, every frame, every word in a script.

I see them growing & living better lives, I see them smiling more often.

It’s a privilege to be learning together with them. Not just videos and content, but also how to live a happy life.

Notes:

Flow is something like this:

Hook - to grab attention using the strong word ‘DISHONOR’.

Relatability and emotions here: See, creatives like us hate being bound down by tasks and systems. It feels like putting a tiger in a small cage and then asking it to hunt.

Problem Statement: Companies like Apple are privileged.

Startups can’t do that.

Startups have a runway.

Solution

Everything from drinking water regularly to eliminating distractions even teaching what we learn daily.

When your team sees you walking the talk, they pick it up in their own way.

Happy ending:

I take pride in everything that our team makes, every frame, every word in a script. I see them growing & living better lives, I see them smiling more often.

It’s a privilege to be learning together with them. Not just videos and content, but also how to live a happy life.

These notes were written after the draft above, and they certainly helped me improve & edit the draft on the spot, by attaching a purpose to each line.
