Spirituality is a practice, it’s not a thing you have. It’s a daily art.

There was a week in May where everything was going right and lovely, and then the week after that, things weren’t.

One day on a morning walk, I realised, that everything that I do daily, from journaling to going out to listening to a specific playlist, to sleeping at 10 the previous day - all of it makes the practice of my spirituality.

After that, this is what I wrote out on a chart:

Everyday, these are the (extended) foundations I try to live life by:

  • Embrace the now for it is all that really is.
  • Be an infinite source of energy and love towards all that is around you.
  • With that energy, extinguish all negative thoughts and overthinking.
  • Live life sincerely, action first, with integrity, and in love with your karma.
  • Accept death for it is the only truth that holds.
  • Leave the outcomes to god (the universe) and love each surprise they send your way.
  • Be a student of life and follow your innate curiosity with no fear.
  • Be sensitive to new mindsets, new thinking and beautiful ways of thinking radically different than yours.
  • Exist to serve everyone and everything around you.
  • Practise gratitude at all moments.
  • Don’t do drugs (I don’t do the banned ones) but also like sugar, too much Instagram, etc.
  • There is never anything urgent in the universe, nothing could be more important than the ‘now’
  • You are no one, give up your identity to be one with the universe and remember your true nature. Give up your identity to give up all desires and truly serve those around you.
  • Everyone around you is much more alike you than they are different, they’re just different versions of you, you are in them, they are in you.
  • If a mindset doesn’t serve you, drop it.
  • You can learn something from everyone, and every moment.
  • You are infinite love and energy, and surrounded by more infinite love and energy.
  • You can’t control any part of the future, not the next moment, not the next day or year or next second. The universe is so grand that it is all out of your control, blissfully so. Embrace this, and let go of the desire to control things in the future, to allow yourself a chance to be surprised by it and to fully embrace each surprise.
